A Magical Legacy

Formally Yours, an award-winning bridal boutique in Atlanta, Georgia, is celebrating 40 years of providing wedding day attire to brides across north Georgia. Founded in 1982 by Susan Clement, the boutique has undergone several updates and iterations over the years, even surviving a global pandemic, while staying true to its original mission: to meet and exceed the evolving needs of Georgia brides, helping them to be the most beautiful version of themselves on their wedding day.

Cathy Clement Butler, daughter of the shop’s founder, now owns and operates the boutique. An Atlanta native, Butler worked at Formally Yours throughout her college years at The University of Georgia, until she relocated to Chicago, IL, due to her husband’s job in the NFL. Upon their return to Georgia in the mid-1990s, Butler took over as the manager of the boutique and later purchased it from her mother in 2000. Today, carrying on the family legacy into its third generation, Butler is assisted by her eldest daughter, Scarlett Sugar, who manages the boutique.

“I can’t imagine Atlanta brides without Formally Yours,” said Butler. “Formally Yours has been an enduring presence in the metro Atlanta bridal market for four decades; it just feels like ‘home,’ as we are often told by many of our brides. In fact, many women who wore wedding gowns from Formally Yours now return with their daughters and granddaughters to find the perfect gown – it’s really special for us to have the opportunity to work with generations of brides and returning clients.”
